History

Our first worship service was held on March 29, 1987, with 92 persons in attendance.  It was held at 1155 North Front Street, in the North Front Office Center, Conway.  After a few years, that space became too small, and the congregation moved to another location on Front street.  Eventually, we had to rent two space areas, which now houses the Faulkner County Girl Scouts across from Irby's Dance Studio.  It was at this location  that we started the Bethlehem House as a mission for the homeless in the Faulkner community, which now stands as an independant non-profit orginization.  It was also during this time (early 1990's) that we began to look into the possibility of building our own church facility.  It became a reality in 1995, when we dedicated the building, after a lot of sweat, planning and rummage sales.

From that time to now, we have been involved in the annual Potato Fest, Rummage Sale for Youth, and Arts and Acoustics Cafe, in addition to serving the Bethlehem House with monthly meals, hosting workshops, and concerts.

We have seen many members come and go as they travel through Arkansas with job transfers and relocations.  During Advents tenure, we have had one full time pastor and three part time pastors serving this congregation.  We currently are served by Pastor Norman Litzner..
